Frequently asked questions.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open Settings → Restore Purchases. Your GoReview Premium unlock will be restored automatically as long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID.
How does the AI analysis work?
GoReview runs KataGo on device where the app ships today. On iPhone and iPad it uses Apple's CoreML framework with the Neural Engine (ANE) for fast inference. Earlier Mac builds used native KataGo with Metal GPU acceleration; new public development is focused on iOS and the upcoming Web Study Desk.
How do I import games from OGS?
Open Settings → OGS → Connect OGS Account. Once you authorize, your completed games sync automatically.
How does iCloud sync work?
When iCloud sync is enabled, GoReview backs up your game records, analysis results, and settings to your own iCloud account. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, your library will restore automatically.
What happened to the Mac app?
The earlier Mac desktop app is currently paused while development focuses on the iPhone/iPad app and the upcoming Web Study Desk. Existing Mac builds may continue to receive Sparkle metadata for current users, but the Mac app is no longer the recommended starting point for new users.
What's included in the free iPhone / iPad version?
The free tier on iOS and iPadOS supports up to 1,000 games in your library and up to 100 AI-analyzed games per month. Core features — SGF import / export, OGS sync, review, gameplay, practice, iCloud backup — are all fully available. Practice problems do not count toward the library limit.
What does GoReview Premium unlock?
GoReview Premium is a one-time purchase that removes the iOS / iPadOS free-tier limits: unlimited library and unlimited AI analysis. Premium is Family-Sharing enabled and restores across devices with the same Apple ID.
What are the Learning features?
When you review a game, any move the engine considers a mistake can be saved as a practice problem with the board cropped around the critical region. Problems land in a spaced-repetition queue: Due Today shows what the schedule says to review, and Session mode walks you through the whole queue in one focused flow — play your move, see the verdict, tap Hard / Good / Easy, continue. The 1.2.0 learning flow is free on iOS. Future notification and progress-dashboard features will ship as a separate subscription.
